Major storms can cause overland flooding and sewage backups into homes and businesses in low-lying areas. Although overland flooding can not always be prevented, sewage backups can be avoided if your property is properly equipped with a backwater valve.
Hours of Operation
The Boston Water and Sewer Commission has 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year service for emergencies. Departments within the Commission have regular hours of operation year-round for customer service. They are as follows:
Customer Service and Collections
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Wednesdays
Administrative Offices
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday
Engineering Customer Service
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday
Meter Installation & Meter Shops
7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday through Saturday
