Backflow Preventer Device Design Data Sheet
A backflow preventer is a device that’s installed on your home’s water pipes that allows water to flow in one direction but never in the opposite direction. Its sole job is to prevent drinking water from being contaminated due to backflow.
General Service Application
After the site plan is approved and signed by the Chief Engineer or his designee, a General Service Application (GSA) must be completed by the owner of the property, or the owner's agent, prior to the initiation of the approved work.
Mark-Out Request
Massachusetts state law requires anyone who digs to notify utility companies before starting to excavate. Digging can be dangerous and costly without knowing where underground facilities are located.
Call Dig Safe at 811 for more information.
Sewer Abatement Application
Sewer abatements allow a separate meter, approved by BWSC, to be placed on the property to register water not entering BWSC's sewer system. To learn more visit the Sewer Abatement page.
Sewer Abatement
The following items must be completed and submitted to BWSC by the legal title holder of property prior to any Sewer Charge Abatement Approval:
- Sewer Abatement Program Application/Drawing Sheet
- Data Design Sheet
- Sketch Sheet
- MTU Receipt Number
