BWSC will be upgrading its facilities in order to support the installation of charging stations to supply its growing electric vehicle fleet. BWSC worked with ENE and AECOM in 2022 to conduct an initial site assessment of the existing and needed electrical infrastructure to support the required charging for electrification of its light duty fleet vehicles.
BWSC will work with Eversource (The electric utility company serving BWSC) and its recommended partners to plan, fund and complete any required electrical upgrades and to install the required number of electric vehicle charging stations in a phased approach aligned with BWSC’s fleet vehicle electrification roadmap.
While the electric infrastructure is being upgraded a temporary charging solution is necessary. Starting in summer 2023, BWSC will be using SparkCharge Fleet, a mobile solution that delivers the charge to EV fleet vehicles when and where it is needed. SparkCharge will also remain on retainer with BWSC to provide mobile fleet charging solutions for when an emergency happens and vehicles need to be charged while on a job site.
