The Boston Water and Sewer Commission’s contractor C. Naughton Corp. is conducting inspections at various properties in the North End community to determine the composition of your water service pipe in the public way and as it enters your building.
If it is determined the portion of the water service pipe running from the property line into the building is lead, BWSC has a No Cost Private Lead Replacement Incentive Program to replace it for free. If any portion of the service line in the public way is lead, it will be replaced and fully funded by BWSC. The contractor will begin inspecting properties on Hanover St. the week of April 8, and continue on various streets in the community for approximately 3 weeks. The hours of operation will be Monday thru Friday 7:00 A.M. till 4:00 P.M. The contractor is required to post No Parking signs at various properties on Hanover St. at least 48 hours in advance of inspections. To coordinate a service pipe investigation please contact Justin Vick of C. Naughton Corp. at 781-857-9278 or e-mail [email protected]. Any questions regarding the program contact BWSC Senior Operations Manager, Anthony Bercume, at 617-581-5196. The contractor’s staff and BWSC inspector must have valid photo ID’s and will show their ID if requested. Never allow anyone gain entrance to your property without showing a photo ID. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to improve water quality in the system. For more information on impacts of lead and our lead replacement program, visit bwsc.org
